A top price for Hong Wu
This artwork by Hong Wu achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy auction, the work Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll sold for HKD 826,000.00 (€ 94,318.08) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00. This high result makes Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll the most expensive artwork by Hong Wu that we have observed at auctions so far.
