Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Landscape After Huang Gongwang by Hong Wu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,132.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hong Wu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 826,000.00 (€ 94,318.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape After Huang Gongwang von Hong Wu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.132,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hong Wu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pocket-Sized Landscapes Handscroll im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 826.000,00 (€ 94.318,08).
