This artwork by Hon Chi Fun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2010. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Time Forgotten sold for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,038.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hon Chi Fun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hsiang 65-5, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 27,480.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hon Chi Fun erzielte im Mai 2010 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Time Forgotten für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.038,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hon Chi Fun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hsiang 65-5 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 27.480,59) versteigert wurde.
