Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Asian Art, which included the work Waikiki Holiday by Hon Chew Hee. The price achieved of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 22,422.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hon Chew Hee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Weaving Shop, which sold at auction in April 2014 for HKD 812,500.00 (€ 75,567.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waikiki Holiday von Hon Chew Hee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 22.422,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hon Chew Hee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Weaving Shop beobachtet, die im April 2014 für HKD 812.500,00 (€ 75.567,77) versteigert wurde.
