This artwork by Hon Chew Hee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the 20th Century Chinese Art auction, the work Weaving Shop sold for HKD 812,500.00 (€ 75,567.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 380,000.00. This high result makes Weaving Shop the most expensive artwork by Hon Chew Hee that we have observed at auctions so far.
