This artwork by Hon Chew Hee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Modern Art auction, the work Waikiki Holiday sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,074.37) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hon Chew Hee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Weaving Shop in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 75,567.77).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hon Chew Hee erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Waikiki Holiday für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 17.074,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hon Chew Hee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Weaving Shop im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 75.567,77).
