Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Joy by Hon Chew Hee was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,078.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hon Chew Hee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weaving Shop in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 75,567.77).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Joy von Hon Chew Hee kam im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.078,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hon Chew Hee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weaving Shop im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 75.567,77).
