Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coffee Hour by Hon Chew Hee was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,851.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hon Chew Hee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Weaving Shop in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 75,567.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coffee Hour von Hon Chew Hee kam im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 11.851,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hon Chew Hee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Weaving Shop im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 75.567,77).
