This artwork by Hishikawa Moronobu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2006. In the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction, the work Iwaki Ezukushi (Illustrated Collection of Rocks And Trees), 1683 sold for USD 26,400.00 (€ 21,748.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hishikawa Moronobu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beauty turning her head, c. 1690, which sold at auction in March 2009 for USD 74,500.00 (€ 56,179.78).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hishikawa Moronobu erzielte im März 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art wurde die Arbeit Iwaki Ezukushi (Illustrated Collection of Rocks And Trees), 1683 für USD 26.400,00 (€ 21.748,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hishikawa Moronobu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beauty turning her head, c. 1690 beobachtet, die im März 2009 für USD 74.500,00 (€ 56.179,78) versteigert wurde.
