Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hilary Pecis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Evening Auction auction, the work Bazaar sold for HKD 3,528,000.00 (€ 426,560.88) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hilary Pecis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fish and Bird, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,117,439.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hilary Pecis erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Bazaar für HKD 3.528.000,00 (€ 426.560,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hilary Pecis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fish and Bird beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.117.439,83) versteigert wurde.
