This artwork by Hernando Ruiz Ocampo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015. In the Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) auction, the work Playmates sold for HKD 6,040,000.00 (€ 737,701.19) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,400,000.00. This high result makes Playmates the most expensive artwork by Hernando Ruiz Ocampo that we have observed at auctions so far.
