Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,349.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herman van Swanevelt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 43,300.00 (€ 72,009.88).
