Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work An Italianate landscape with figures and cattle by a pool by Herman van Swanevelt. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,473.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herman van Swanevelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond, which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 43,300.00 (€ 72,009.88).

Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with figures and cattle by a pool von Herman van Swanevelt zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.473,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Herman van Swanevelt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond beobachtet, die im März 2000 für GBP 43.300,00 (€ 72.009,88) versteigert wurde.
