Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Classical Landscape by Herman van Swanevelt was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,195.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Herman van Swanevelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond, which sold at auction in March 2000 for GBP 43,300.00 (€ 72,009.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Classical Landscape von Herman van Swanevelt kam im Januar 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.195,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Herman van Swanevelt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond beobachtet, die im März 2000 für GBP 43.300,00 (€ 72.009,88) versteigert wurde.
