In the Old Masters & British Paintings auction, the work An Extensive Landscape With Travellers On A Track sold for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,375.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Herman van Swanevelt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 43,300.00 (€ 72,009.88).
