Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A rocky landscape with shepherds and their cattle by Herman van Swanevelt was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2011. It changed hands for a price of EUR 9,375.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Herman van Swanevelt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 43,300.00 (€ 72,009.88).

Die Arbeit A rocky landscape with shepherds and their cattle von Herman van Swanevelt kam im November 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 9.375,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Herman van Swanevelt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with a drover, cattle and washer women, a bridge and a hill top temple beyond im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 43.300,00 (€ 72.009,88).
