Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia) by Herbert Bayer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,643.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert Bayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mirage In The Mountains in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,427.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia) von Herbert Bayer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.643,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert Bayer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mirage In The Mountains im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 139.427,98).
