Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Polish by The Fountain by Henryk Siemiradzki was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2011. The price achieved of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 344,480.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henryk Siemiradzki - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parnassus, which sold at auction in December 2020 for GBP 680,500.00 (€ 760,179.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Polish by The Fountain von Henryk Siemiradzki wurde im Mai 2011 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 301.250,00 (€ 344.480,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Henryk Siemiradzki mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parnassus beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für GBP 680.500,00 (€ 760.179,15) versteigert wurde.
