In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Portrait of Merelina Tindal (1815-1852), half-length, in a white dress with blue sash, holding a rose, a landscape beyond sold for GBP 2,185.00 (€ 3,633.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry William Pickersgill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'improvisatrice, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 10,240.00 (€ 11,946.98).
