Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Kinnikinic by Henry Stull was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,169.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Stull achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Leonatas, Winner Of The 1883 Kentucky Derby in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 65,500.00 (€ 47,057.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Kinnikinic von Henry Stull im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.169,72) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Stull erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Leonatas, Winner Of The 1883 Kentucky Derby im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.500,00 (€ 47.057,98).
