Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bay With Jockey Up In Green And Yellow Silks by Henry Stull was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,754.57). Admittedly, works by Henry Stull have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American Leonatas, Winner Of The 1883 Kentucky Derby in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 65,500.00 (€ 47,057.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bay With Jockey Up In Green And Yellow Silks von Henry Stull im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.754,57) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Stull auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American Leonatas, Winner Of The 1883 Kentucky Derby im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.500,00 (€ 47.057,98).
