The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,850.00 (€ 30,461.94), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Roderick Newman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Porta Dei Canonici, Duomo, Florence, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 75,000.00 (€ 70,901.87).

Die Arbeit Temple of Philae, Nubia von Henry Roderick Newman wurde im Oktober 2000 in der Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.850,00 (€ 30.461,94) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
