Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Port Of London by Henry Pether was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,496.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Pether - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of The Thames By Moonlight, Towards London Bridge, With The Tower of London And Traitors' Gate In The Foreground, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,550.94).
