In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Moonlit Fishing On The Riverbank by Henry Pether. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,880.30), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Pether - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of The Thames By Moonlight, Towards London Bridge, With The Tower of London And Traitors' Gate In The Foreground, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,550.94).

Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moonlit Fishing On The Riverbank von Henry Pether zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.880,30) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Pether mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of The Thames By Moonlight, Towards London Bridge, With The Tower of London And Traitors' Gate In The Foreground beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.550,94) versteigert wurde.
