This artwork by Henry Ossawa Tanner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2007. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Moonlight Path sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,823.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Ossawa Tanner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nicodemus Coming to Christ in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 541,000.00 (€ 347,686.38).
