Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,057.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry John Sylvester Stannard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playing marbles, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,604.08).
