Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A mother with her child and a kitten before a thatched cottage by Henry John Sylvester Stannard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 844.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry John Sylvester Stannard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Playing marbles in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,604.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A mother with her child and a kitten before a thatched cottage von Henry John Sylvester Stannard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 844,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry John Sylvester Stannard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playing marbles im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.604,08).
