Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The little gleaners (illustrated); and An autumn afternoon in Warwickshire by Henry John Sylvester Stannard was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,340.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Henry John Sylvester Stannard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Playing marbles in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,604.08).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.340,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry John Sylvester Stannard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Playing marbles im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.604,08).
