Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry John Sylvester Stannard could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper auction, the work In a hayfield, near Wantage, Oxfordshire changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 3,938.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry John Sylvester Stannard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Playing marbles, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,604.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry John Sylvester Stannard konnte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Art on Paper wechselte die Arbeit In a hayfield, near Wantage, Oxfordshire für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 3.938,59) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry John Sylvester Stannard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Playing marbles beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 5.875,00 (€ 9.604,08) versteigert wurde.
