This artwork by Henry George Todd achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2001. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES auction, the work Grapes, plums and a butterfly on a mossy bank sold for GBP 822.50 (€ 1,327.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Admittedly, works by Henry George Todd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grapes, pears, apples, peaches, plums, roses, a bronze tazza, a bird's nest and a glass dome containing red finches, on a wooden shelf in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,250.00 (€ 8,816.67).
