Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Highlanders Going South by Henry Garland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,413.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Garland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Highlanders Going South, which sold at auction in August 2007 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,304.38).
