Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lysander With Helena And Hermia, From A Midsummer Night’S Dream by Henry Fuseli was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,454.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).

Die Arbeit Lysander With Helena And Hermia, From A Midsummer Night’S Dream von Henry Fuseli wurde im Dezember 2017 in der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.454,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The incubus leaving two young women im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.510.000,00 (€ 3.038.434,90).
