Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Captive Woman by Henry Fuseli was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The price achieved of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,337.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Fuseli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The incubus leaving two young women in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,510,000.00 (€ 3,038,434.90).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.337,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Fuseli erzielen.
