Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The faggot gatherers by Henry Charles Fox was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction at Christies in London in July 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 537.75 (€ 812.66). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Charles Fox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shepherd driving sheep down a country lane with the harvesters beyond, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16).
