Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work A Backwater On The Ouse, Huntingdonshire by Henry Charles Fox. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,141.83). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Charles Fox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shepherd driving sheep down a country lane with the harvesters beyond, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Backwater On The Ouse, Huntingdonshire von Henry Charles Fox zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.141,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Charles Fox mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A shepherd driving sheep down a country lane with the harvesters beyond beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 1.762,50 (€ 2.828,16) versteigert wurde.
