Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Houghton Mill by Henry Charles Fox was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 587.50 (€ 960.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Charles Fox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A shepherd driving sheep down a country lane with the harvesters beyond, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16).
