Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A ship off Whitby in a storm by Henry Barlow Carter was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,612.47). Admittedly, works by Henry Barlow Carter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mont Orgueil, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A ship off Whitby in a storm von Henry Barlow Carter wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.612,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Barlow Carter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mont Orgueil, Jersey im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.962,49).
