Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Barlow Carter could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Art auction, the work A fishing boat running into a harbour in a gale (illustrated); A fishing smack in a squall off a rocky coastline; and Stormy weather with fishermen on the shore changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 583.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Barlow Carter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mont Orgueil, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49).
In der Auktion Maritime Art wechselte die Arbeit A fishing boat running into a harbour in a gale (illustrated); A fishing smack in a squall off a rocky coastline; and Stormy weather with fishermen on the shore für GBP 500,00 (€ 583,70) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00.
