Sold at the upper estimate price
The work A gentleman in his gig, a country house in the distance by Henry Alken was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auction at Christies in London in November 2010. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,390.00), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Alken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works) in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit A gentleman in his gig, a country house in the distance von Henry Alken wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe bei Christies in London versteigert.
