The work The Night Riders at Nacton: The Start; First Jump: The Fall; and The Finish by Henry Alken was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 17,300.00 (€ 22,006.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Alken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work British Start For The Derby, 1847; And Cossack Winning The Derby, 1847 (Two Works), which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 80,500.00 (€ 57,834.61).
