Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Crossing a bridge by Mount St Plomb by Henri Knip for EUR 8,650.00. This price was achieved in the auction Anton Philips, Entrepreneur & Connoisseur at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Knip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of Lake Geneva, with figures at a vineyard in the foreground, the Château de Chillon beyond, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,287.78).
