Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A view of the city gate of Boles near Florence by Henri Knip was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,650.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Knip - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of Lake Geneva, with figures at a vineyard in the foreground, the Château de Chillon beyond, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,287.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A view of the city gate of Boles near Florence von Henri Knip im November 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.650,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henri Knip mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A view of Lake Geneva, with figures at a vineyard in the foreground, the Château de Chillon beyond beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.287,78) versteigert wurde.
