Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A View of An Alpine Lake With A Shepherd And His Flock; Travellers In A Mountain Valley by Henri Knip was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,600.00. Admittedly, works by Henri Knip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of Lake Geneva, with figures at a vineyard in the foreground, the Château de Chillon beyond in May this year with an auction result of USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,287.78).

Als die Arbeit A View of An Alpine Lake With A Shepherd And His Flock; Travellers In A Mountain Valley von Henri Knip im November 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.600,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Knip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of Lake Geneva, with figures at a vineyard in the foreground, the Château de Chillon beyond im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.287,78).
