Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction NINETEENTH CENTURY ART, which included the work A still life with fruit and insects by Hendrik Reekers. It changed hands for a price of EUR 15,275.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 11,000.00 – 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrik Reekers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dahlias, nasturtiums, bourbon roses, poppies, astras and buttercups in a copper ewer with plums, grapes and peaches on a marble ledge in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 234,750.00 (€ 401,882.50).
