In July 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Skaters On A Frozen Canal Outside The Walls Of A City by Hendrik Meijer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,510.25), 25% above the upper estimate. Other works by Hendrik Meijer have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 11,352.50 (€ 16,339.37) in October 2004 for the work A wooded river landscape with peasants resting by a cottage.
