Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hendrik Goudt could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 500 Years of Printmaking auction, the work Tobias And The Angel 'The Large Tobias' (Bartsch, Hollstein 2) changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 451.07) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrik Goudt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tobias With The Angel Dragging The Fish (Hollstein 2) in March 2012 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,991.11).
