Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters: Part I, which included the work Portrait Of Jacob Van Der Merckt; And Portrait Of Petronella Witsen by Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 257,000.00 (€ 224,630.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2013 the work Portraits Of Jacob Van De Merckt And His Wife Petronella Witsen was auctioned for USD 362,500.00 (€ 277,161.86).
