Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black costume with a white chemise and collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a pink embroidered dress and black coat with white cuffs and collar standing by a chair holding a fan by Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot was sold in the Old Master Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007. It changed hands for a price of EUR 66,250.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portraits Of Jacob Van De Merckt And His Wife Petronella Witsen in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 362,500.00 (€ 277,161.86).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black costume with a white chemise and collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a pink embroidered dress and black coat with white cuffs and collar standing by a chair holding a fan von Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 66.250,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrik Gerritsz. Pot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portraits Of Jacob Van De Merckt And His Wife Petronella Witsen im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 362.500,00 (€ 277.161,86).
