The work Woman with Pitcher by Hemendranath Mazumdar was sold in the SOUTHEAST ASIAN AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2003. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 262,900.00 (€ 27,379.19), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).

Die Arbeit Woman with Pitcher von Hemendranath Mazumdar wurde im Juli 2003 in der Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 262.900,00 (€ 27.379,19) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
