In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Divine Moment; Rising Sun by Hemendranath Mazumdar. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,702.33), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hemendranath Mazumdar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 413,750.00 (€ 467,608.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Divine Moment; Rising Sun von Hemendranath Mazumdar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.702,33) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hemendranath Mazumdar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abhiman (Wounded Vanity) im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 413.750,00 (€ 467.608,01).
